EasyDCC EasyDCC Starter Systems
3 Basic Types Suitable For All Scales And All Layouts

Before describing the 3 different starter systems, here are some considerations as you plan your purchases of EASYDCC Starter Systems.

Mix, Match or Upgrade Is OK. Need something different than what's in a starter system? No problem - you can modify the contents of any starter system. You pay only the difference in price and there are no hidden fees or charges.

Three Systems From Which To Choose - Or Create Your Own. There are 3 basic starter systems that provide a great starting point for adding EASYDCC to your layout. Each system is complete except for the locomotive decoders. The table shows the contents of each one. If a model number is shown, click on it to go directly to the appropriate page having more information. There are additional notes regarding some of the items and these notes are at the bottom of the page.

The Model # column contains links to separate pages describing the item's features and capabilities. The System columns link to the explanations at the bottom of the page.

Starter System Selection And Considerations
Our award winning product line makes Command Control easy to install and simple to learn. You do not need a background in electronics or computers to enjoy the benefits of EASYDCC. However, if Command Control is new for you, we will start at the beginning and review some important decision points which will influence some of your basic choices.

What Type Of Layout Do You Have? All of the EASYDCC Starter Systems are suitable for any layout or scale. How you use your layout and your available budget governs the selection of additional items to expand your system beyond the basic starter system capabilities.

BSS & BSS-nt     The Basic Starter System includes the Command Station which has two built in throttles, the high power, 7-Amp track booster and the matching booster power supply. This is perfect if you use your layout or operate alone. You only need one throttle to run a train. Of course you can use more than one throttle for multiple trains but here is where Command Control excels. If you simply run the trains in loops, you can use one throttle to start a train and then assign the throttle to another train. If this is your style of operation, our Basic Starter System is perfect for you. This basic system is designed for small, first time layout owners with plans for later expansion.

ESS & ESS-nt     The Extended Starter System adds the throttle bus extender, transformer and an XR1300 plug-in throttle to the basic starter system. This is a perfect starting point if you are planning to use the plug-in style throttles or you intend to have multiple users. Plug-In throttles include walk-around memory, so they can be unplugged and moved while the train continues to run.

WSS     The Wireless Starter System adds the wireless receiver, its transformer, extra modular cable and a T2400E or T2600E wireless throttle. Wireless operation removes all the cords and offers the most freedom and flexibility. This is the ultimate in walk-around freedom. The wireless throttles use advanced radio technology that easily penetrates common obstructions.

You can add additional items, add a plug-in throttle capability or a wireless capability to the basic system at any time. There is no need to remove or replace existing equipment since everything is designed for easy expansion.
The instructions for using the Basic, Extended and Wireless Starter Systems are contained in the EASYDCC System Manual. Click the button to the right to download a copy.

Table Notes
(1) The transformer is for use only with 110VAC electrical systems. If your electrical system is 220VAC, order the "-nt" version of the system. The "-nt" means "no transformer." You will need to obtain a suitable source of 12VAC for power. We can also supply a universal power supply with suitable pigtails to power the Command Station and the Extender. Email or call us for details.

(2) You may swap the single zone ZoneMaster booster for a Dual Zone version for the difference in price.

(3) A 7 foot modular cable is included with starter systems to connect the Command Station to the booster. If you need a longer cable, order that separately. See the Accessories page for ordering information.

(4) The starter system comes with a 7 foot cable to connect the wireless receiver to the Command Station. If you require the wireless receiver to be further from the Command Station, or if you need more than one wireless receiver, you will need the optional throttle bus extender board (EDXA). There are other options when using wireless equipment. See the wireless throttle section for detailed information.

(5) Wireless equipment can only be shipped to North/South America, Canada and Japan due to the frequencies used. The wireless systems use the ISM band from 902MHz to 928MHz).
