ZoneShare - A Perfect Mate for Your Booster
Split Your Booster's Output Into 4 Independent Outputs
|
|
|
The ZoneShare splits a booster's output into four independent and protected track driver outputs.
Each output has its own protection and electronic circuit breaker.
Any fault on one output will not affect the remaining outputs.
ZoneShare does not create power, it uses the power from an external booster.
Although nearly any booster can be used, the ZoneShare works best with a ZoneMaster since ZoneMaster offers plenty of power.
Auto-Reverse Built-In: Output-A also features a built-in autoreverse function and has its own sensitivity adjustment.
If you don't need autoreverse, then it becomes just another independent output.
No power supply is required.
Power comes from the external booster.
Four individual fault indicators: Each output has its own fault indicator and unique alarm buzzer.
A short or overload will light the indicator and sound the buzzer making it simple and quick to pinpoint which zone has a problem.
The fault buzzer can be turned off. The front panel switches allow the buzzer to be turned on or off - whichever you wish.
It can be changed at any time.
ZoneShare With Enclosure features plug-able terminal blocks. The deluxe version of ZoneShare is perfect for modular clubs and portable layouts.
All connections are made to a terminal blocks that plug into the front panel.
The rugged plastic case, protective aluminum front panel and perforated metal rear panel protects the internal circuitry while providing plenty of flow through ventilation.
Fully Protected - ZoneShare's output circuitry is fully protected against short circuits, overloads and overheating.
If a derailment occurs, the affected zone shuts down without affecting other zones.
This is the perfect solution for both small and large layouts.
If the short circuit protection is tripped, the alarm sounds and the built-in fault indicators show which zone has been tripped.
External Booster Sets Maximum Available Power: The ZoneShare can not create power.
It is the external booster that sets the total amount of power that is available from the ZoneShare.
For the example hookup shown below, the ZoneMaster Single has a maximum output of 7 Amps.
The ZoneShare's total of all 4 outputs must not exceed 7 Amps or the ZoneMaster overload protection will trip.
For most applications, this will not be an issue since the ZoneShare outputs should not be heavily loaded.
If you continually trip either the external booster, or the ZoneShare protection, you should not use a Zoneshare but should add a ZoneMaster booster.
Economy model for under-layout mounting: Cost conscious users can get ZoneShare without the plastic enclosure.
It is a circuit board only, assembled and tested, ready to mount under the layout.
It has convenient screw terminals for all connections.
Mounting holes make it easy to mount under the layout and its cool operation doesn't require heatsinks or fans.
The picture to the right is a top view of the ZoneShare economy model.
Easy To Hookup:
Connect the ZoneShare to your booster's track output.
The ZoneShare recreates the DCC signal, splits it into 4 independent outputs and adds protection to each output.
In the example below, the A+R output is used to feed the reversing loop.
The other 3 outputs feed 3 more blocks.
